Scope of Eligibility
Open to permanent employees in a competitive title who work for the Division of Enforcement & Financial Operations and meet the requirements below.
Description
Under the general supervision of a supervisory officer within an Information Technology unit of a State Department or Agency, or local jurisdiction, supervises a database administration team; serves as a senior technical database administrator; implements and manages database software and hardware; coordinates database administration projects; supervises staff and work activities; prepares and signs official performance evaluations for subordinate staff; performs other related duties as required.
Specific to the Position
Manage the Electronic Data Deliverables (EDD), the GIS, and the Web Development, Desktop Support and A/V Support Units in CSRR's. The EDD Unit is responsible for accepting and processing over 1,000 electronic data deliverables per month to ensure the data can be uploaded successfully into the Compass database and accessible to DEP personnel and external stakeholders. This Unit also creates applications to extract data from PDF forms. The GIS Unit makes CSRR data available in a GIS format to aid in the decision-making process of remedial actions. This information is vital to both DEP staff and external stakeholders when making remediation decisions essential to the protection of public health and safety and the environment. The Web Development, Desktop Support and AV support unit is manages all hardware and software for CSRR staff, manages all forms and maintains the CSRR web site.

Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience.
Eight (8) years of professional experience in the administration of databases including design, development, performance, evaluation, modification, security, backup, version control, and integrity.
OR
Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and four (4) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.
OR
Possession of a bachelor's degree in database administration, computer science, information technology, or management information systems from an accredited college or university; and three (3) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.
OR
Possession of a master's degree in any one or combination of the following degrees: database administration, computer science, information technology, or management information systems; and three (3) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.
OR
Possession of a bachelor's degree in database administration, computer science, information technology, or management information systems plus a master's degree in any one or combination of the following areas: database administration, computer science, information technology, or management information systems; and two (2) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.
OR
Possession of an associate's degree in database administration, computer science, information technology, or management information systems; and six (6) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.
License
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
Residency
All persons newly hired on or after September 1, 2011, have one year from the date of employment to establish, and then maintain principal residence in the State of New Jersey subject to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L.2011, Chapter 70), also known as the “New Jersey First Act”.
