Program: Community Investment and Economic Revitalization Program - Green Acres

Program Description: The Green Acres Program was created in 1961 to meet New Jersey’s growing recreation and conservation needs. Together with public and private partners, Green Acres has protected well over a million and a half acres of open space and provided hundreds of outdoor recreational facilities in communities around the State.  

Project Description: Provide technical assistance to communities participating in land acquisition and park development grants administered by the State’s Green Acres Program, provided through the National Park Service’s (NPS) Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) program. 

Specific to the Position:
Duties for the position will include: 

  • Acting as a liaison between the Green Acres Program, NPS, and local governments that are applying to or are recipients of ORLP grants. 

  • Assisting in the planning and development of ORLP project proposals and applications, which may include concept plans, cost estimates, site analyses, community engagement, and other research tasks as needed. 

  • Assisting in the administration of ORLP grants, which may include preparing project agreements and progress reports and reviewing payment requests. 

  • Soliciting applications from community organizations for the Readiness and Recreation Initiative program. 

Preferred Area of Study: Landscape Architecture 

License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
