Scope of Eligibility
Open to permanent employees serving in a competitive title who work for the Department and meet the requirements below.

Description
Under   supervision  of  a  supervisory  official  in   a   state department,  institution,  or agency,  has  charge  of  the  work programs  and  staff of a unit or section involved  in  shipping, receiving,   transporting,  storage,  stock  rotation,   pulling, checking,  and  loading of trucks for delivery  of  supplies  and materials in a warehouse distribution center, maintenance service areas,  stockroom,  or  other complex installation  with  similar operations;  orders  stock  and/or  reviews  purchase  orders   to replenish  materials and equipment and may recommend  changes  in purchasing procedures and supply levels.

Specific to the Position
The appointee will be responsible for procurement, receiving, and distribution at a warehouse/distribution facility which supplies Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) approved personal protective equipment and related environmental sampling equipment and supplies for NJDEP field personnel. The appointee will provide supervision and work in a customer service capacity, using good communication skills, being detail oriented and working effectively as a team leader.

Preferred Skill Set
Experience using a computerized inventory management system. Familiarity with the NJ State procurement procedures. Strong ability to utilize computer-based applications to monitor the purchasing process, procurement, inventory and distribution of goods. Experience conducting inventory and spot checks. Ability to work with state vendors & outside agencies to meet our needs. Familiarity with health & safety protective equipment, environmental sampling supplies & survey instruments.  Previous experience in procurement, warehousing, NJ Right to Know law, and supervision is highly desired.

Requirements
EXPERIENCE:

Three (3) years of experience in shipping and receiving work in a warehouse, distribution center, maintenance service area or other similar installation, two (2) years of which shall have been involved with requisitioning, maintaining and/or issuing parts, mechanical/electrical equipment, supplies, materials, food, and/or household goods

License
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey.
