Scope of Eligibility
Open to permanent employees in a competitive title who works for the Division of Information Technology and meet the requirements below.
Description
Under general supervision of an Administrative Analyst 4 or other supervisor in a state department, institution, or agency, performs the review, analysis, and appraisal of current department administrative procedures, organization, and performance and helps to prepare recommendations for changes and/or revisions; does other related duties.
Specific to the Position
Administration of NJDEP’s email, calendaring, and productivity suite (Microsoft 365), including maintaining user accounts, distribution lists, shared resources/mailboxes, eDiscovery/OPRA request support, Microsoft Teams creation, and SharePoint/OneDrive permissions and support. Utilize advanced tools, such as PowerShell to report and maintain the Microsoft 365 and Active Directory environment. Receive, configure, deploy, support, and specify standards for more than 1100 mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets. Administer the associated MDM (mobile device management) solution. The role also interfaces with the State Office of Information Technology and external vendors to troubleshoot issues and maintain cloud-based solution (Microsoft 365 and EV cloud). Provide direct support to NJDEP Senior Staff and Commissioner’s Office.
Preferred Skill Set
The ideal candidate should possess experience in IT/computing systems including TCP/IP & network support, mobile device management (MS Intune), MS Exchange online administration, PowerShell scripting, Azure Entra ID & AD administration, identity management & governance, helpdesk ticketing system & user support, Microsoft 365 Support: Teams, OneDrive, Outlook. Familiarity with Ivanti Heat, MS SQL, and MS Configuration Manager a plus.
Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience.
Seven (7) years of professional experience involving the review, analysis, and evaluation of budget, organization, administrative practices, operational methods, management operations, or data processing applications, or any combination thereof, which shall have included responsibility for the recommendation, planning, and/or implementation of improvements in a business or government agency.
OR
Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and three (3) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.
OR
Possession of a Master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Accounting; and two (2) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.
NOTE: "Professional experience" refers to work that is creative, analytical, evaluative, and interpretive; requires a range and depth of specialized knowledge of the profession's principles, concepts, theories, and practices; and is performed with the authority to act according to one's own judgment and make accurate and informed decisions.

License
